Lego Tao Trio

Description

So yeah, after around three years, I’ve finally gone and built all the Tao Trio. I’m not building the other Kyurem forms, because good lord I’m already broke as it is.

As far as where this all started, it was being inspired by someone elses Lego Reshiram build, and wanting to build my own. It was to see if I could, and also because Resh is my all-time fave pokemon. When I originally built her, I was planning to build it smaller than what you see there. For all these, I started with the head, which set the scale, so Resh ended up being pretty big. She also wasn’t very stable, but after modifying her about a year or so ago, she can stand up on it’s own, just needing a bit more arm support now (but that’s not too important atm).

Zekrom came in because I wanted the Black & White duo, plain and simple. He is much bigger than I originally planned, because he was supposed to be the same size as Resh, but is actually a few inches or so taller. This is actually a reason I’ll probably rebuild him, because the way his tail-turbine is built makes his center of gravity very awkward, so the pose you see is really the only one he can be comfortably in, otherwise he’s most likely to topple. I’m also not too happy with the look of the legs and arms, since it doesn’t look that good. They get the idea across, but I feel they could look better. I probably won’t do a full rebuild, but I may do something about said arms and/or legs.

And lastly, Kyurem, who was built not even 2 weeks ago! Originally, I had no plans of building him, not having any real ideas for how I’d even go about a build. When I decided I would, I put it off…and put it off, and put it off for at least 8 or so months. When I started gathering parts, I noticed I didn’t have light blue parts for the ice, so my idea next was to use a combo of blue & white, which honestly I really am not happy with. There was no size I was looking for, but he did end up being the smallest in my trio, which is a sigh of relief to my parts bins. I’m honestly surprised he can stand, since he has TINY feet, and a BIG body. And aside from the ice colours, I’m really happy with him.

Now, should I build more Lego pokemon?

Honestly hard to see Reshiram with the white pieces and all, but Zekrom and Kyurem look FANTASTIC!
